NEW YORK, November 30, 2020 — Fabricant LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Richard Cowell, as counsel, to its fast-growing patent litigation practice. Richard Cowell has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in high stakes patent litigation both at Kenyon & Kenyon and most recently at Desmarais LLP in New York. Richard brings strong technical skills to Fabricant LLP. He earned his B.S. in Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology, and an M.S. in Computer Science from Columbia University. Richard has managed patent cases in many U.S. District Courts and in the Federal Circuit Courts of Appeals. He has extensive experience in all aspects of patent litigation, from pre-filing diligence through discovery, claim construction, trial, and appeal. He has helped his clients achieve many successful outcomes, including wins at jury trial and on appeal. Richard has also practiced before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board on IPR and other post grant review proceedings and has appeared before the U.S. International Trade Commission in Section 337 actions.

Before receiving his J.D. from NYU School of Law, he worked for five years as an engineer with a major defense contractor, specializing in designing software and firmware for military radar systems. Fabricant LLP continues to search for highly skilled patent litigators at all class levels. We encourage and support diversity in all our hiring decisions.
